Pulling it all together: Due to sporadic electricity and technical difficulties while on the ground in Ghana, the GI Blog and Posts were delayed until now. We did however, post to the Ghana Initiative Facebook Group page on a few occasions! Please visit us there for photos and details!
This was the first day of our in Ghana. The entire team hit the ground running. After arriving at the airport and being picked up by our driver, Daniel we headed for the East Legon Guest Lodge to drop off our bags, get a quick shower and brush our teeth. Then we were off! We picked up the mobile medical truck in the Dansoman area of Accra and found that a battery had been stolen from the electrical generator unit in the truck. This was a temporary issue that was soon remedied. Once the truck was started, we traveled to Pokrom Nsaba, the town where we served for the coming week. it took about 2 hours to get there! We were met by curious, smiling children who had all kinds of questions and a love in their hearts. We got the truck in temporary position in front of the local Presbyterian church and beside the Primary school where we served!
